The AVS-553 is a high-performance edge AI computing system designed for industrial automation, machine vision, and data-intensive applications. Powered by the latest 13th/14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors (Raptor Lake-S Refresh) and the Intel® R680E chipset, as well as the option for GPU expansion, the AVS-553 delivers exceptional computing power for advanced AI workloads at the edge. Supporting up to 128GB of DDR5 memory, it ensures fast data processing and seamless multitasking for demanding environments.
To meet diverse storage needs, the AVS-553 provides two M.2 M-Key 2280/2242 slots for SATA or PCIe SSDs, allowing flexible storage configurations for large datasets or rapid system access. For GPU and I/O expansion, it offers 1 x PCIe x16 (Gen 5) with up to 2 x PCIe x4 (Gen 3/4) slots. This design enables scalable GPU upgrades and hardware acceleration for AI inference, vision processing, or edge analytics applications.
The system’s comprehensive I/O selection includes 8 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 6 x RS-232/422/485 ports (4 rear, 2 internal), and 4 x 2.5GbE LAN ports (Intel® I226-LM) with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) support for synchronised industrial communication. It also features 8 x GPIO (4 input / 4 output, hardware selectable 3.3V / 5V) for industrial control integration. For display connectivity, 1 x HDMI 2.1 and 1 x DisplayPort 1.4a outputs support up to 8K resolution, providing outstanding visual clarity for monitoring and analysis. The AVS-553 also offers excellent expansion flexibility with 1 x Mini PCIe slot for Wi-Fi modules and 1 x M.2 B-Key (3042/3052) with nano SIM slot for 4G/5G cellular connectivity.
Designed for reliability in demanding industrial environments, the AVS-553 operates within a wide temperature range of -20°C to 60°C, and is tested to IEC 60068-2 standards for shock (50G, 11ms half-sine) and vibration (2Grms, 5–500Hz) resistance. This rugged design ensures stable 24/7 operation in smart factories, roadside cabinets, and other harsh settings.
Power stability is ensured through dual hot-swappable CRPS power supplies, each rated at 550W, with total support for up to 1100W when required by high-end GPUs. The redundant power design enables continuous operation even during power module failure, ensuring uninterrupted performance for mission-critical tasks. Supporting Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu 20.04/22.04, it provides flexible OS compatibility for a range of industrial AI and automation software.
