The USB-104-HUB is a high performance, industrial grade solution for USB expansion. The USB-104-HUB is a high-speed USB 2.0 device and is USB 3.0 and 1.1 compatible. Each of the four downstream ports is capable of high speed (480Mbps), full-speed (12Mbps), and low-speed (1.5Mbps) data transfers.

Industrial Design

The USB-104-HUB utilizes a high-performance, low-power USB 2.0 hub controller with extended operating temperature ratings suitable for industrial and military grade applications. The USB-104-HUB is housed in a low profile; steel enclosure designed to withstand high shock, vibration, and temperature. An anti-skid bottom provides stability for desktop applications. The enclosure can also be DIN rail mounted or mounted in a standard PC 3.5Ē front panel drive bay. An OEM (board only) PC/104 form factor version is available for embedded applications.



Data and Power Status

Light emitting diodes (LEDís) display power and port status. A green LED indicates that a port is enabled whereas the red LED indicates an over current fault condition. The USB-104-HUB is fully protected from faulty peripherals connected to its downstream ports. Each port utilizes its own power distribution switch that provides over current and short-circuit protection. If a fault occurs, the power distribution switch will disengage the respective port and turn on its fault LED. A fault occurring on one downstream port will not affect other devices attached to the USB-104-HUBís other downstream ports.

A Variety of Power Options

The USB-104-HUB can be bus powered or self-powered for user applications requiring more current for downstream peripherals. External +5V can be supplied to the hub through a DC power input jack, or for OEM applications, via screw terminals or a traditional 4-pin berg connector.

The USB-104-HUB utilizes Industrial-Grade High Retention type A and B USB connectors to ensure a reliable, dependable, and unfailing connection. For embedded OEM applications, additional miniature USB input headers are provided on the PCB.
