The PRIMUX system consists of three components: a CAT5 Matrix Switch that manages the connections between the users and servers; platform specific Host Adapters that connect each server to the matrix switch; and User Stations that connect the matrix switch to each set of user-station equipment — keyboard, monitor and mouse. The User Stations and Host Adapters can be located as far as 1,000 feet from each other, and are connected to the matrix switch via CAT5/5e/6 UTP cable.
The platform specific Host Adapters are available for connection to PS/2, USB (PC, SUN, MAC), Legacy SUN and Serial Terminals. Other features of the PRIMUX system include: hot-swap components with no disruption of server operation, automatic video quality compensation for varying cable lengths, support for video resolution up to 1920x1440, BIOS level control of servers and command and control via user station On Screen Display (OSD). Configuration and control can also be performed via a serial port or IP connection to the onboard Telnet or Web Server.
The PRIMUX Series KVM Matrix Switches provide the ideal solution for controlling high-density server environments.
